Apistogramma Panduro is a colorful fish. These Apistogramma Panduro fishes live in rivers, seas, and oceans. These fishes are mostly found in the areas of South America. You can easily buy this fish from the commercial areas. The temperament and behavior of these fishes are unique from the others. They live a longer lifespan. These fishes are small to medium in size. On average, the size of these fishes may range from 5 cm to 10 cm. They do not grow more than these inches. The common colors of these fishes are yellow, blue, and red. 

Apistogramma Panduro Male vs. Female

The Apistogramma Panduro male and female fishes are different from each other. The Apistogramma Panduro female fishes are small in size as compared to the male fishes. The female size may vary from 5 cm to 6 cm and the male size may vary from 8 cm to 10 cm. A black spot is present on the body of the female Apistogramma Panduro fishes. The male fish have shiny fins and their color is bluish. The female fishes are much more vibrant in the season of breeding as compared to the male fishes.

Apistogramma Panduro Breeding

You should take a pair of these fish and put them in a large tank. They feel easy to breed in a large area. They require a certain temperature for breeding that is suitable for them. The temperature may range from 70 degrees Fahrenheit to 80 degrees Fahrenheit. When the process of breeding is started, the male fish have a duty to protect their eggs and the female fish. The female fish get to spawn only in a suitable season and lay eggs in 2 days to 5 days. The female fish get to spawn in the caves preferably. After spawning the fishes live only 5 months and then they die. 

Apistogramma Panduro Tank Size 

The Apistogramma Panduro fishes require a large tank to live. These fishes live in freshwater. You should take them in a large tank and take good care of them. They need a huge amount of water to live and the water level may vary from 10 gallons to 20 gallons. You can provide them with more water than their requirement, if possible. 10 gallons of water is enough for a pair of Apistogramma Panduro fishes. They do not feel easy and comfortable in the small tank because they do not feel secure in it. They do not live a long time in bacterial water. 

Apistogramma Panduro Tank Mates 

These fishes are small to medium which is why they like small fishes in the same tank. They feel happy and love to play with them. These Apistogramma Panduro fishes spend more time with the species having similar temperaments and behavior. They prefer tank mates who do not become aggressive and live peacefully. They do not like large fishes in the same tank because they may become the food of such fishes. Large fishes prove very dangerous for them. The tank mates of these fishes are Neon Tetras, Pencilfish, Pygmy Corydoras, and Otocinclus Catfish. These are the safest and most suitable tank mates for these fishes.
